Hello n:
If the laws work at all, OF COURSE, he can't be around little children.

Are you seriously asking if a recently convicted child molester can have children around him? It doesn't matter whose children.

Without knowing all the details, including his probation terms and other information one can not say 100 percent, BUT,
First no parent in there right minds would leave them with him to start with.
But I will say that I am 99.99 percent sure he could not legally be near them if he wanted to.

Hello again, nilsa:
That family situation is ONE thing... Whether it's your business, is another. What is YOUR interest? Are you family? Are you a neighbor? How do you know these people?

Yes, she is a friend, I know its not my business but I know what it feels like when your being touched against your will. This is why I asked. I had to distant myself. No one wants to believe or accept that someone whom they love with there whole heart is a predator. Everyone turned on me when I finally spoke out that my dad was touching me very, very inappropriate. Should I just cut the friendship and keep it moving? Please give me your advice. I sure could use it

If a child is being abused you have a duty to report it. What would you have wanted someone to do when you were a helpless child? Do that same thing now for someone else.

When you think a child molester is living with children, it's not only your business but your responsibility to report it. If he's permitted to live with them, that will be determined and nothing more will happen. If not, he will be put back in jail and the kids will be safe. Alert the authorities.

Hello again, nilsa:
Thanks for coming back.
In your original post, you didn't suggest that the child was being abused. You only asked whether a sex offender can live there..
I agree with my friends that if you KNOW there's abuse going on, or even if you THINK there's abuse going on, you have an OBLIGATION to report it.. But, I don't get from your posts that you have, even an inkling of abuse. Therefore, I wouldn't make any reports...
It's apparent that you've had conversations with your friend about her father... I'd speak to her again, and mention your concerns. I'd ask her to clear up what his conviction was for. Not all sex offenders are precluded from being around children. I think you need more information before you act.

If this guy is on probation, contact his PO and inform him/her of this living arrangement. It could possibly violate him and/or send him to prison. It does not matter who's child it is... it's a child living in the same household. This is NOT permitted under any circumstances. He should move out immediately or have the child go live with their parents.

Sorry Ex Con but I disagree with your take on this. If he's not supposed to be living with children, and violating terms of his probabion, he should be reported. If he's permitted to live with the kids, the report won't result in any consequences. If he's not permitted to live with the kids, the situation will be rectified. What is the sense of waiting until he has molested the kids to report the suspected violation of his probabion? The whole point of the terms is to prevent him from having the opportunity to reoffend.

Hello again, Don't:
You seem to think that there's NO downsides to snitching, and only UP. I couldn't disagree more...
