My sprayer and faucet run at the same time I have put new diverter
I have a moen model INSO82D faucet and the sprayer and faucet run at the same time so they sent me a new diverter which I used after making sure there was no trash in the faucet where the diverter goes. The sprayer has more pressure now but the faucet puts out as much water as the sprayer does and it never did this before. The faucet has great pressure when the sprayer is off. Is there something else I can try? Thanks

Did this faucet ever work correctly?
Before you replaced the diverter, and with the valve open, did you turn on the water to flush out the open valve body and supplies?
Back to you. Tom

I agree with Tom. You either didn't install the diverter correctly or there is debris preventing diverter to move to close position. Take it apart, clean it, flush it, and reinstall it.

Yes, the faucet worked great before and I did turn on the water for a good minute to make sure it was flushed out well. I also had to turn on the water to get the diverter to come up because I couldn't get it out otherwise.

So you probably didn't install the one correctly. Check your installation...

I was also thinking I didn't install it right so I have taken it out three times to check to make sure it is in correctly. I also cleaned it out and flushed it and put it back. I am really puzzled and am anxious to see if I can actually make it work right.

Check to make sure the sprayer isn't plugged. If the sprayer is partially plugged, you won't get enough flow to make the diverter work correctly, so you will get a stream out of both the sprayer and the spout, about half and half. One way to test this is to remove the spray head, point the hose in the sink, and turn the fuacet on. If you get water only out of the spray hose, I'm betting you could give the spray head a good cleaning and be back in working order.

When I called moen and told them the sprayer and faucet was still running at the same time they sent me a new sprayer but I will still try what you said to do. Thanks

Have you already installed the new sprayer? If so, make sure the sprayer hose is not kinked in any way under the sink. Good luck, and looking forward to hearing what you find. Lee.

Yes, I have already installed the new sprayer and I have checked for kinks also. When I turn on the sprayer is that when the diverter is supposed to pop up to stop the water from coming out of the faucet? The reason I ask I thought I might take it apart and turn on the sprayer and see if it comes up.

Sink Sprayer - can't find how to get to diverter valve?
[ 3 Answers ]
We've tried to replace the sink sprayer and it still doesn't work. It sprays one big burst and then trickles so we think it's the diverter valve but we can't get it out - seems low in the faucet. Don't know the manufacturer name of sink faucets. How can we be sure.
Kitchen Faucet Sprayer On - Main Faucet not totally off

We moved into a new house - new construction. When we use the sprayer in the kitchen faucet, water comes out the sprayer as it is supposed to, but the water does not completely shut off in the main faucet. There is still a thin column of water coming out.
We had the faucet replaced, and this...
