This is throughout Georgia, but you should be able to find spots near the coast too.

This is a Google search that includes the Georgia Coast, to include Savannah, where my daughter was born. It's a beautiful old city which has been improved a lot - you'd love River Street on a tour.

Hope these sites have something to your liking.

In the 1970's there were times when sand-fleas were rampant, but I'm sure they have improved a lot since then..
http://www.historictours.com/savanna...lery/index.htm check this for some of Savannah's attractions!

    Good luck.

    You come back now, hear!

That's what we are here for. There's some good fishing too. I caught a shark one time and the steaks were great.

    Interested in the beach?

Perhaps California? LA, San Diego, San Francisco, the works.

There is nice weather, hot, lots of beaches.

That does not help someone with family in Georgia who wants to spend time with them. Could be a bit cheaper too.

California is a great state, but the mentality is different (too rushed).
    Georgia is mellow.
Las Vegas, Nevada is my favorite - and I have family there, but no beach!

So, if I had a choice again, it would be Georgia first, then Las Vegas.

    Hilton Head
Hilton Head SC, OK not GA would be my recommendation and from Dulth would be closer than many of the other Georgia cost.

Also you may want to look at Daytona Beach FL, or Jacksonville FL, still very close in comparison to a lot of the Georgia cost.

Savanah is OK, historicly, but if you want a beach, you will not be happy.

Of course a lot of GA people never visit things right in their own area, Dulth being close to Atlanta, you have a brand new aquariam, a great zoo, and the wonderful World of Coke, the Atlanta Braves ( get the stadium and musem tour.

Hilton Head Island was a great place, a little expensive though.
I loved the trips to the Everglades because I'm a 'gator' and swamp fan from childhood on. The old gator in the hall in Okeephenokee (sp) was alive when I was a kid, and I have a great picture of my daughter sitting him (stuffed) when she was a baby 20 years later - Ah, that brings back great memories.

I used to "crab" off the bridges between the island all the time.
And it is a little pricey, but what beach area isn't. I spent the college spring break time frame on Daytonia Beach last year,

For those religious at heart, there to me is no closer time with God than watching the sun rise over the ocean. Reminds me how small we are compared to the size of the ocen and also shows the power and might of God.

Go to Tybee Island, off the coast of Georgia near Savannah. Good family place and great beach where one can wade 1/2 mile into Atlantic Ocean at low tide.
