Has anyone dealt with Ford Credit?
I need help help QUICKLY!! I am 50 days behind on my car payment and they want the whole amount ($840) by this Friday and they want it Money Gram. I did an ebill payment last week that was returned because my paycheck went in on the midnight of Friday-Saturday and I had it set for Friday.I thought that I could go back to their website and try to change it for Friday-Saturday, but couldn't, so it got returned.
I am having a lot of financial problems and want to make at least a small payment, but they want the full amount by Friday. I explained that I won't have any money until the midnight of Friday-Saturday, and they told me, "Well borrow from someone because it we don't get the full amount by 3 pm Friday we are coming to get your car."
I am terrified because the most that I can pay on Saturday (of course) is $400 and the rest next week, but thy won't negotiate with me.
Anyone out there that has negotiated a deal with them? My last payment was in Feb. and I had an extension already with them.
Do you think that they will return my payment when I make it, or will they repo my car?
    HELP!! PLEASE!!

I have already skipped a payment in January and they were really nice about it. Then I made a payment in late Feb. and that is what started they whole thing, that I can only skip a payment a year!!
    Thanks for the suggestion.

I have read on other sites that they are TERRIBLE to work with and that they take your care even if you are 10 days late. That they are within their rights to do it. What do you guys think?

    Hi,

I am just talking from my experience. I hate Ford more than I hate any other business ever, but that is a whole other story. I will spare you that one. As for payments, I did skip 2 in 1999.

They are horrible, but get a supervisor and tell the supervisor how horrible their employees have been to you! Tell her/him the whole story the bounced check, the financial problem, etc. The reality is if you don't pay the car as stated in your contract they lose money, if they re-sell it after Repo they lose a great deal of money. It is an expensive thing for them. Give them a sob story. If you have to, don't park it near your home or work until you make the payment. That is probably very bad advice! I am not a lawyer, just someone who has been there. Usually they will work with you, they also can't curse or harrass you. That is against the law.

    Good Luck
Please let me know how it goes.

Thanks for the advice Seneca, and I can always try to appeal to their humanitarian sense and see if they take the money. I know they will accept the money, its going to be a Money Gram and what are they going to do, send it back? The problem is where am I going to park my car when I am at home without my husband wondering why is they car in the garage that is already full of crap!! My office is gated with security guards, so I am safe like that... I will keep you posted and I will keep checking here to hear from others about their experiences.

    Hi,

I just spoke with John Caamano from Ford Credit. He said that they don't only skip one payment and that you should call and they will work something out with you. He also said they will not send your payment back! He was like oh no no no, tell her to call, we will work something out. Of course I did not have your information but I said I was calling for a friend that is afraid to call.

    Good Luck
Next time buy a Toyota! LOL
I could tell you horror stories about Ford's business practices and how they rip off customers!!

Oh My God Seneca!! You are the best!! Its too late tonight but I will call tomorrow and tell them that I am Western Union a payment by Friday and pretend that do not know anything, because the lady that I talked to yesterday told me that she was going to put on my file that there were no arrangements made (whatever that means) so I have not made arrangements with anyone, right? I can talk to Mr. X and tell them that I am making a $400 payment on Friday and the rest next week and wait to hear what they saty... if not I will request to talk to Joyn... Please reply when you get this.
    Thanks so much!!
