    How can you tell if your router is broken or not
    My di-524 router just quit working, how do I figure out if a setting is wrong or that is just doesn't work anymore and I need to get a new one?:rolleyes:

    Try to connect to it with a wired connection if it's wireless.
    Make sure the power light is on and you get a link light.

    Make sure your wireless card is OK by going to a library, Borders etc.

    Reset your router and try to re-configure.

    First of all you should simply unplug the power to the router, wait a few seconds and plug it back in. You should also do this with the modem from you ISP and do it first before the router. Unplug them both and plug the Modem back in first, wait a bit for it to synch up and then plug in the router.

    One other thing, you can plug into the Modem directly with a network cable. This will tell you if the internet is reaching and passing through your modem. The modem could be bad and not the router.
