If you are in need of a free eye exam or free glasses, please read this thread before posting a thread of your own.

    • Contact your local Lion's Club. They are very active in providing free eye exams and glasses to eligible candidates.
    • Check out this link to see if you are eligible for the “New Eyes for the Needy program”: New Eyes for the Needy
    • You can contact your local Lenscrafters about their “Hometown Days”, it's sponsored by the Lion's Club. Here is a link for that: Western Branch Lions Club - Lenscrafters Hometown Day
    • You can also contact your local Health Services office, and apply for state provided Medical.

Thank you for reading this before posting the same question. You can also scroll to the very bottom of the page and see similar posts, and read the advice there.

    Free eye exam?
I'm 55 years old worked my whole adult life in the construction trade raised a family of 4. Kids have moved away, wife left me, lost contracts for home buildings. Lost my home can't find work, no insurance. And for the past six months I haven't been able to see because the only pair of glasses I had fell off my face and were crushed in the power lawn mower. I tried to crazy glue the lens together but I got triple vision from the cracks .

Call a local eye doctor or two to find out the Lions Cub contact's name and phone number, or figure out the Lions Club info on your own. They fund free eye exams if a person qualifies. It sounds like you would qualify.

If all else fails and you can't connect to the Lions Club, call and ask for help from Reference at your local public library. I'm a librarian and know libraries have their fingers on the pulse of the world!
