    Frozen snow blower starter
I bought a sears 5.5 hp snowblower recently. I think the starter froze up because the power cord doesn't pull. After reading the manual, I was suppose to while the engine was running pull the cord 4-5 times before shutting it off to prevent this from happening. How do I unfreeze a snow blower starter?

Put a space heater next to the snow blower, then see if it pulls. If not the engine might be locked up. I need more info. 2cycle or 4 cycle?

Thanks for your advise. My brother stopped by to check it out for me and I had a serious problem. There was a whole the size of a quarter in the engine. I called sears and explained what happened... they told me to bring it back that it had to be a factory defect. The engine still indicated full oil and they said I was the second person this had happened to this year. So I purchased a 9 hp that really shoots the snow and has some power. The one I returned was a 5.5 hp. When it shut off, I thought I was just out of gas, I have a paved driveway so I didn't hit anything. But the main thing is that they made it right with me and allowed me to return it.

Thanks again for your quick response... Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

I've got a Murray Snow Blower - 2 years old. I believe it's an 8 or 10 HP. It doesn't move forward in low gear. I have to push it and then the wheels move a little bit. The higher gears seem to work fine. The snowblower part of this works fine as well. Jungman7
