    Battery won't hold a charge
    HELP!

I have a Sears Craftsman LT300 42" cut riding lawn mower. Currently it refuses to hold a charge on the battery. Sears has been of no use in this matter and only wants to sell me replacement batteries. I have checked all connections and wiring and fuses. All appear normal.

Any guidance from an expert would be greatly appreciated.

PS. Sears in Savannah reps. Need not respond!

Can you check the specific gravity of the cells? Testers are extremely inexpensive.

Well, are you constantly having the problem of batterys becoming discharged? If so, it could be your stator, or a diode.

The diode is located inline in the wire from underneath the blower housing (top of engine), and the stator is located under the blower housing, underneath the flywheel.
