How to hook up my dvd player to my vizio TV
Can someone please help me hook up my dvd player to my vizio TV? Some pertinent information. My new sony dvd player came with yellow, white and red cables. The back of the DVD player has yellow = video, orange = coaxial, white = L audio, red = R audio.
    My vizio TV however, has green = y/v, blue = pb/cb, red = pr/cr, white = L, red = R.
My input choices are TV, AV, Component, HDMI I, HDMI II and RGB. My cable company said I should be using component. I have tried everything that everyone has asked me to do, with no success.
    Please help!!

From the DVD Yellow > Green (y/v) on Tv
From the DVD White > White on Tv
From the DVD Red > Red on TV

If DVD has video output menu options it should be set to Composite output
Settings for the Tv should be (AV)

Cable company is correct if you have component (Red, Green, Blue) connections on the DVD, they will match to the (Red, Green, Blue) on the TV.

If it's a new DVD player, it likely has an HDMI output. If so, that's what you should use. If you give us the model #s, we can look up the outputs.

tisonlyme, Check closely to ensure you don't have your video and audio jacks, reversed at one end or the other.
