Pick now in my profile of my best friend
I just added a pic of my walker hound/lab(?) cross. I know for sure her mom was Walker Hound, doubtful about her dad, it was a rescue mission from a really bad home.

In the pic it looks like a horse (or my son said an afghan). Anyway its because she has a really big nose and big eyes and you can tell she is going gray. She is 60 lbs. tall, long legs and wiry coat constantly shedding, smart, never done any damage to furniture or rugs, or whatever. I had a standard Schnauzer when I got Taffy at five weeks old. My Schnauzee, Tessy just barely tolerated her. When Taffy got older and they both went out in the morning to pee, Taffy would take a run at the old girl as she was squatting and bowl her head over tea kettle! It was funny to watch but reprimanding didn't do any good, it still happened on a continuous basis !

Anyway, this is my walking companion, who has a cat companion called Pickle, they are the utmost friends (in the house) outside a different story.

Thanks folks for a great forum, I am so enjoying my second week of vacation in my own garden (housework is being done reaaaaaaaaaaalllllly slow), rainy days like the ones experiencing right now, enhance my time here.

    Cheers and peace

Oh what a cutie! She is adorable looking. When I was married we had treeing walker hounds, loved those dogs. Good hunter and good pets.

Glad you are enjoying vacation. You earned every minute of it. Say, what is housework anyway? Lol.

Take care and thanks for sharing the pic and the story.

I also have a walker foxhound mix... actually we think he may be purebred, but aren't sure, we rescued him as a baby when he was nearly dead.
He is the best dog ever. A really great breed... a bit stubborn, but excellent walking companions... everyone tells us he's a horse too. I think he's going to be dressed up as a horse this halloween when my son is a cowboy.. lol..

    As a baby

    Now

    Now- in color..

That's 90 lbs of pur love right there... lol.
    Beautiful, beautiful dog you have!

Tickle wonderful story and funny too, Taffy sounds like my nene, she pokes the cats with her nose regradless of how many times she gets in trouble, sometimes so hard she flips them over. Tho, she is nicer to the cats out in the yard than she is with them in the house. Tickle enjoy your vacation, I'm sure you deserve it. :)
