Loss of horn in Task Tray
The little horn Icon, the one that is the volume control and it also does other things like control your speaker system, disappeared from my task tray overnight, well anyway it is not there anymore, can someone explain to me why and how to get it back. I have a volume control on my keyboard but I am use to using the one in the task tray.

Thanks for your answer and you are right. But I went to where you said and the box was clicked, I un-clicked it and clicked OK and apply, then I went back and clicked the box that ask if I want it to show in task tray, I then clicked apply and then OK, still no Icon in task tray. Thanks again for your answer.

Hmmm, what windows version? Try logging out and back in again, or restarting. See if that makes a difference.

Maybe you have the "hide inactive icons" checked ?

If you have the audio driver, try to uninstall it, then re-install it. When you un-install it, Windows will see there is no "sound device" so no icon will appear. Once the driver is installed, Windows should reset the sound driver to defaults, which is with the icon showing.

You might also try a system restore to a previous time.
