Past series
I am here in the US and I do not find the series available on DVD or tape.
My web searches have not lead too much luck, anyone know where some of the older versions may be avaialbe.
My wife has never seen it and has no idea what I am talking about.

Dr.Who dvd's
Season one, with Christopher Eccleston, will be available all over the United States and Canada,at all good stores, from February 14th,2006.
I believe your in Sparta,Tennessee? So you should have no problems ;)
Don't know where,or if,you can purchase any back catalog of previous incarnations of the Doctor in the US,but the new stuff, you will certainly be able to get, after it's been available in the UK for a few months on dvd.

Can you not order them from Canada, Fr Chuck? Or is it one of those stupid laws where they are not allowed to be distributed in the US? I know that happens with books sometimes. Anyway let me know if I can help in some way.

Torchwood
Press Releases
Captain Jack to get his own series in new Russell T Davies drama for BBC THREE:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pre...17/torch.shtml
How I forgot to put this link in,I shall never know.John Barrowman (capt.Jack) is to star in the Dr.Who spin-off series, Torchwood, due on UK screens, late autumn 2006.Described as a sort of X Files meets This Life, the 13 part series involves investigations into alien and human crime.Family viewing it is not, apparently.Should be fun then... :D

Certainly looks interesting, should be worth watching anyway.
So what did everyone think of the Xmas special.
Personally I think it shows promise, we'll just have to wait and see ;)

If you're talking about the remastered BBC DVDs, I have seen them in a lot of stores over here.
They're also available on amazon.com

Xmas special
Ben,watched The Christmas Invasion. For the first 30 minutes, thought "hmnn",but then it got better.Thought the sward fight, was terrible.Tennant's accent was bizarre.Things can only improve.I must admit,I loved his Lion King speech, and the reference to Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy (Arthur Dent).Watched it again the other night,on bbc 3,and seemed to enjoy it better.First time must have been the xmas pud! :D
Bring on the Cybermen...

Play the Dr Who detective game, with your mouse. You will hear David Tenant tell you to use your remote control.Dont.This is a BBC Broadband test.Might only work for UK viewers, but you won't know till you try.So what are you waiting for.Try the link:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/
Oh yes, nearly forgot. You will need a fast Broadband connection for it to work.

The Doctor was on here in the US last week and it was great, I had been a fan from years ago on the earlier shows. I do not know why it is so appealing, but I fell in love with it all over again.

I find the political correctness issue thrown in as an afterthought distracting.
Also, the mystery of the original Doctor Who seems to be gone. Maybe because the inside of the time machine is too brightly lit, or maybe because
Of the flippant way in which this new Doctor goes about his buisiness.
In short, if he's not worried or concerned about where he places his machine or where he winds up or who he encounters, then whay should we the viewers be?
