    You need to contact either AMD or the motherboard manufacturer about this. You can't change the BIOS except by "flash" upgrading and that's may not be applicable here (if the BIOS already supports the CPU).

    As you found out, you can't enter CMOS settings without having a working CPU. So you need help from either the CPU or motherboard manufacturer.

    You want to pick 2000. Those are the possible speeds for that chips multiplier. You have an AMD Athlon 2400 Thoroughbred CPU. All AMD chips don't actaully run the speed of their performance rating. Your CPU has a x15 multiplier. This can't change. Then its up to the motherboard to fick the right BUS speed in this case the appropriate bus speed is 266. Since this is a DDR bus you need to divide it in half - 133. Then multiply this by the multiplier. 15x133 = 1995 which is ~ 2000. This is how it always works out. If the motherboard doesn't list a + after the speed then its usually talking about the chip's raw speed. After you get it working, you should be able to get the latest firmware and it may change this to better support this chip and not ask you the appropriate speed. This may also start displaying the chip by its performance rating, but rest assured its still 2GHZ.

    For your info. The 4 supported bus speeds of that mother board are:
    200=100 15x100 = ~1500
    266=133 15x133 = ~2000
    333=166 15x166 = ~2500
    400=200 15x200 = ~3000

    And that's why it only gave you those choices.

    Good Luck
