Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

However does the executive pressuring the press to suppress speech and assembly breach the 1st amendment ? I think it does ;and if it doesn't then Trump is right .......the protections in the Constitution are meaningless.

When faced with Biden's misconduct and the election tampering of the press, he said, "So, generally pretty meaningless," in post 11. So it sure seem to be ideology at work here. What am I missing?

Unfortunately the narrative that will stick is that Trump believes it is ok to terminate the Constitution to steal elections . Just like the narrative being made about the Hunter laptop is not about Biden crime family corruption but old news about Hunter's drug fueled perverse behavior .

The stuff that is not being discussed is how the law enforcement agency was recruited by the Dems to pressure social media to suppress the 1st amendment right of speech and press . There is where the REAL threat to the Constitution is found .

And it is not just the FBI . The press allies of both parties routinely hire former government intel, CIA ,and Pentagon officials to tell us what we can think .

One thing to consider ;had the legacy media the so called gate keepers of truth ....like the NY Slimes and the Washington Compost had done their jobs ;then alternate sites like Twitter would not be necessary and most likely would not have suppressed the story .Real journalism would have tracked down and authenticated the laptop materials.They in fact did so 2 years later when the info did not have the impact it would've had in the Presidential contest . Real journalism would not have given Quid Pro Joe a pass when he dismissed the story as Russian disinformation. Real journalism would've demanded proof of the intel agents of their contention that it was all Russian disinformation.

This week Trump said we should terminate all rules, regulations etc “even those in the Constitution" to overturn the election.

Now we know why . The previous Twitter ownership hired former FBI council James Baker as an attorney for Twitter . He was vetting the stuff Musk was releasing about the Hunter Biden lap top and excluding the material that involved the FBI pressure on Twitter to suppress the lap top from the platform.

Musk found out about it and fired Baker yesterday
