    Madam Mimi Pelosi 's Taiwan junket .
    I'll concede that once the Chinese threatened to shoot her plane down if she traveled to Taiwan ,she had no choice but to go .

    But why did she go ? Does it have something to do with investments in computer chip companies the drunk Paul Pelosi made ?

    Upon landing she stated ;

    Our Congressional delegation’s visit to Taiwan honors America’s unwavering commitment to supporting Taiwan’s vibrant Democracy.

    Pelosi, Congressional Delegation Statement on Visit to Taiwan | Speaker Nancy Pelosi

    But But But

    yesterday we heard this from
    John Kirby, the National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications .
    “Nothing has changed about our ‘One China Policy,'” “We have repeatedly said that we oppose any unilateral changes to the status quo from either side. We have said that we do not support Taiwan independence, and we have said that we expect cross-straight differences to be resolved by peaceful means.”

    White House says ‘we do not support Taiwan independence’ amid reports of Pelosi visit (yahoo.com)

    So which is it ?

    I had been led to believe that for over 50 years America took a policy of 'strategic ambiguity over the question of Taiwan independence.
    Meaning China never knew if we would support and defend Taiwan in the even of a Chinese invasion.

    An alternative would be clarity . But is there clarity when within 24 hrs a key spokesperson for the Administration ;and the 3rd in line of Presidential succession take clear opposing positions on the issue ?

    I wonder what unilateral change to the status quo they expect from Taiwan? And if we do not support Taiwan being an independent state, then exactly what are we supporting?

    Turns out Paul Pelosi Jr was an unnamed guest of Madam Mimi on her Taiwan junket . Paul Jr is on the board of 2 Asian Lithium mining companies. For some reason he was not listed as an official guest of her on her website.
