What has become an all too common liberal response is playing out in Ottawa. 'What?? Don't agree with wonderful us?? You must be a real sick-o."
Trudeau took to Twitter late Tuesday to reference to lawmakers in Canada’s Parliament who, he said, “unanimously condemned the antisemitism, Islamaphobia, anti-Black racism, homophobia, and transphobia that we’ve seen on display in Ottawa over the past number of days.”

Strawmen he can link to so called "anti-vaxers" which is another strawman(because the opposition is to 'mandatory vax or lose your job'. )How many bogeymen can he paint the "tiny minority" protests with ? Isolate and demonize . Where have we seen that playbook before ?

You shouldn't worry about what the truckers will eat You should worry about what you will eat when truckers stop delivering

That's already a problem. Store shelves are too often empty or nearly so. Our wonderful and persnickity cat is NOT pleased at mealtime by the cheap food we are forced to buy because it is all that is left.

And why is there a supply chain issue ? Because the world went loco with mandates .

Then there are idiotic California rules where only "clean trucks " can enter the port areas .So clean trucks go to the port to pick up containers .. Then when they leave the port area they off load to other trucks to travel to the container's destination.

and of course we have already the still unresolved issue of container piracy at the LA train terminal

It's what happens when the liberal dems go wild. Every time I think I've heard it all, something like this comes out. It's just unreal and so sad what is going on in our country.

At least those "liberal dems" aren't wanting to ban books.

You mean the porn books about men having sex with boys which liberal dems want middle schoolers reading? Those wonderful books? The ones with graphic illustrations about homosexual activity between men and boys? Really? You support that? Because those are the only books concerning which there has been any real repub suggestions about banning as well they should be.

Oh, they aren't banned yet, but a long list has been made. And a great deal of publicity and warnings are out about republican governors and state reps and other lawmakers hoping to ban books from school libraries. Here are a few:

To kill a mockingbird - Harper Lee
The complete Maus - Art Spiegelman
The bluest eye - Toni Morrison
Fallen angels - Walter Dean Myers
    Speak - Laurie Halse Anderson
    Gender queer - Maia Kobabe

There is no bridge from California clean truck regulations to book banning . It is a bridge too far. But since the topic has drifted completely off the rail ,I would point out that 'To Kill a Mockingbird' was originally banned by Jim Crow Dems

The most recently banning of the book was justified because it has a White author and it has a White savior . That happened in a Seattle school district .

“Atticus Finch, of course is in everyone’s memory the great hero of the book, but in fact he was kind of tolerant of the racism around him. He described one of the members of the lynch mob as a good man.”
Mukilteo School District removes ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ from required reading list | The Seattle Times

If you are looking for recent trends in moves towards censorship and cancelling ,it is in literature and media depictions of the so called "white savior" . Some critically acclaimed movies like 'The Help; 'Mississippi Burning';'The Blind Side' depict white savior heroes .

And it is not only in literature by the way . Missionaries , White volunteers who help minorities ,white teachers trying to save minority students ,whites who adopt minority children have all been labeled as 'white saviors '.

There is some validity to this critique . Progressive policies like eugenics was instrumental in the shaping of American social and imperial foreign policy at the end of the 19th century . Teddy Roosevelt was a leading progressive of his day. Imperialism may be discredited today . But social progressive eugenics policies like pro-abortion live on.

He was once lauded as an example of a progressive social reformer . Now they take down his statue because his progressive policies are being reconsidered as racist . But his progressive liberal social polices endure . The nanny state has it's roots in white savior attitudes .

Oh, they aren't banned yet, but a long list has been made.
This is why I have learned to ask for specifics on this site. You said earlier, "Banned, not only for kids, but for adults. Those books and more. Books adults and kids, with parents supervising, need to read." Now it turns out that no books have been banned from adults. Oh well.

You managed to slip Gender Queer into your list, a book which is plainly porn, includes graphic illustrations and descriptions of sex, and in no way is in the same literary category as To Kill a Mockingbird. I have said it has no business in school libraries. You seem to disagree with that which is puzzling in the extreme.

This part of the issues in Cali was just amazing. "Then there are idiotic California rules where only "clean trucks " can enter the port areas .So clean trucks go to the port to pick up containers .. Then when they leave the port area they off load to other trucks to travel to the container's destination." It's just an incredible snapshot of the craziness of the whole system. Nothing gets accomplished other than driving up the costs of transportation. It's why I have come to love the Gospel so much. Among other things, it is an island of sanity and reason in this crazy world.

The word "libraries" is generally used when book banning is threatened. That term includes public libraries. Children AND adults use public libraries.

How do you know it's porn? Have you read it? How will parents talk with their children about gender issues? Gender Queer would be a good beginning.

    To Kill a Mockingbird
: Challenged at the Moss Point, Miss. School District (1996) because the novel contains a racial epithet. Banned from the Lindale,Tex. advanced placement English reading list (1996) because the book "conflicted with the values of the community." Challenged by a Glynn County, Ga. (2001) school board member because of profanity. The novel was retained. Returned to the freshman reading list at Muskogee, Okla. High School (2001) despite complaints over the years from black students and parents about racial slurs in the text. Challenged in the Normal, ILL Community High Schools sophomore literature class (2003) as being degrading to African Americans. Challenged at the Stanford Middle School in Durham, N.C. (2004) because the 1961 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel uses the word "nigger."

P.S. Just searched my public library's online catalog for Maus. The book is checked out with seven holds on it. Book banning talk increases book reading!

How do you know it's porn? Have you read it?
I've read descriptions of it. Generally speaking, books with graphic descriptions and illustrations of sex are porn. Now perhaps you approve of sex between children? I don't know if you do or not, but this book is porn. I do know that your political views seem to never, ever, ever allow you to make a comment that could be construed in any way as something other than outright support of homosexual activities. That strikes me as unfortunate. And your idea that parents and children must read hard porn in order to discuss gender issues is crazy beyond belief. My wife and I spoke with our children about these issues. It never required reading hard porn.

Your comments about libraries and books are fine. You still have no hard instances of books being banned. Conjecture does not count.

Oh, now it's HARD porn. And the Bible has soft porn in it. What's wrong with homosexuality? How have you discussed gender issues with your kids and grandkids?

Books have been banned or threatened to be banned every time you blink your eyes.

What does banning accomplish? As I posted earlier, "Book banning talk increases book reading!"
