The Rolling Stones gather woke .
The Strolling Bones just cancelled one of their signature and most popular songs from their repertoire due to woke sensitivity .

Brown Sugar is a song about sex with a slave. The opening lyrics read :

Gold coast slave ship bound for cotton fields
Sold in the market down in New Orleans
Scarred old slaver knows he’s doing alright
Hear him whip the women just around midnight

    Keith Richards doesn't quite understand

“I don’t know. I’m trying to figure out with the sisters quite where the beef is. Didn’t they understand this was a song about the horrors of slavery? But they’re trying to bury it.”...
We’ve played ‘Brown Sugar’ every night since 1970,”
I don't quite get the anti-slavery twist from the lyrics but whatever . I don't believe for one second the Stones support slavery .

Ironically the Stones are calling their current tour the 'No Filters " Tour

All I know is that if I put down a couple of Benjamins to go to a Stones concert and did not hear this iconic song ,I would feel cheated But then again I would not go out of my way to go to a Stones concert . I did see Jagger do a cameo at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 25th anniversary concert at Madison Square Garden.. He came on a U2 set with Will I Am and Fergie to sing 'Gimme Shelter" ' .
