    Doorbell not working
    Hello,

Got a doorbell that is no longer working.

Took the switch off and joined the two wires together, NO CHIME.

    Cleaned Bell and found transformer.

Using multi-meter on Transformer shows 18V and when I touched door switch wires, bell rings.

That means WIRING between transformer and door switch is BAD, right?

Or should I look at something else?

    Thanks,

Probably so, check all junctions/splices first. A continuity test with your multimeter ought to give some insight.
