    Kierkegaard
What religion was Soren Kierkegaard? Much about him on the net, but I can't find his religion, assuming he belonged to one of the Christian denominations or, at least, was born into one.

He was primarily a Lutheran through his family but his writings display both a love and dislike of some Christian beliefs. He later became a force for existentialism and belief in free will. You control your own destiny, God does not predestine. He was a very deep religious philosopher. Sartre and Camus are contemporaries.

Thanks. I assumed Lutheran but couldn't confirm it. Btw, Sartre and Camus were not contemporaries - they came about a century later.

I used the wrong term, I knew they were more modern.
