No fault car accidents between states
My son was hit by a car in NY (as a pedestrian) and suffered injuries. He returned to California where he resides. Even with no fault case #, he's having va hard time finding an orthopedic doctor to treat him without up front payment. How does this work? Does he need a separate attorney in California?

Doctors want to be sure they will get payment, if you have document from insurance company that they will pay for sure, and/or limits, it would help, but merely a case number does not insure payment

I agree, when there is no fault assigned to an accident then each party pays there own damages and attorney fees, but I am unclear why you would need an attorney since proving fault is a huge burden on you. Not many attorneys would even take a no fault case, especially across state lines. Of course the details matter, so what am I missing here?

Hopefully your son had car, and health insurance.
