Can a retro placental hematoma can be treated? Can it cause a still birth if left untreated?

This occurs in about 3% of all pregnancies and is the most common cause of bleeding in the first trimester. Depending on the severity, it can resolve and many women with this complication carry to term and deliver healthy babies. Another name for this is chorionic hematoma.

If you have this, it is important you follow closely with your OB.
