    Do I have dry socket?
Hi! I'm 5 days after having all 4 of my wisdom teeth taken out. I was wondering what the area is supposed to look like. I'm not in intense pain or I don't think it's that bad anyway. My pain is barely noticeable after the prescribed ibuprofen. I was just worried because one of my bottom extraction sites looks completely different to the other. I can see just a tiny bit of what looks like a white tissue on one and it seems much deeper than the other. The one with white tissue was an impacted tooth though. I'm not sure if that makes much of a difference in the way it heals or not though. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Dry socket is when the blood clot in the extraction site has been dislodged. Blood clot forms, protects and heals. Is one of the reasons you are told to eat only soft foods, not poke around the site, and not irrigate your mouth constantly; when rinsing, use a gentle action. If you are unsure, please go back, or call your dentist. Without seeing the extraction site, we cant tell you one way or another.
