    I would think they would be obvious.

    1) Dispatch would know where each truck is
    2) they can monitor if drivers are taking unauthorized breaks
    3) they can help drivers avoid traffic issues
    4) Better control of gas and maintenance costs

    I'm sure there are more if you stop to think.

    The downside is that employee moral may suffer to the point that they start to damage the equiptment. Also keep in mind that any infraction of the law by your drivers can be used against your company if there is an accident including making the actual fault can change from the other party (without GPS) to you with the GPS.
