    Booted out of PC Game
OK Here is the problem. I play Porsche 2000 when I am online and when I have played it once, it's fine. On the second go I am midway when suddenly my machine decides to kick me out completely and start rebooting.

I have played games offline too and the problem still happens sometimes.

I have Windows XP, 2.4 chip and 512k RAM.

    Any suggestions please.

When you say it works fine once, but not the second time - do you do anything like rebooting between games?

If not, my guess would be something to do with the memory running out. 512K should be enough RAM though. Two things I would suggest trying:

    • Go to the home page of the game and see if there are any patches for it available. If so, download and install them and try again. There could be a memory leak in the first version of the game and a patch might have been released to address this.
    • If you are running XP/2000, hit ALT+CTRL+DEL and change to the processes tab. Take a quick look at what's there then run the game for the first time. After running the game, ALT+CTRL+DEL again and see if any processes are left open after running the game. If there are - stop them. Then run the game again. If it doesn't crash, then that process you stopped is the little pest sucking up all the memory.

As well as this there are always the usual remedies to try:
    • Install the latest version of your graphics driver from the driver manufacturer's homepage.
    • Download and install the latest version of DirectX - http://www.microsoft.com/directx
    • Reinstall the game over the top of the existing install.

Could also be a heat issue. Google for and find a motherboard monitor utility that can watch your heat/power while playing.
