    Hello

I am guessing you have this Diagram Photo here. I don't know if a picture is going to work.

Thanks dchdmans and par time for your response. Yes I have the diagram but it isn't clear enough to tell how those gears go back. I let the trans. Case fell off saw horses and everything fell in floor. I had planned to take pictures of it. Boy did I mess up. I need picture that shows how it all should go back in.

Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of the tranmission during my time while I was doing my course and training to use this piece of equipment.

I've also looked for one , and there isn't one on the net ATM, other than the diagrams.

Sorry we couldn't help , though we will keep trying.

You don't need another picture guy, but written step by step instruction on how to put this tranny back together.

Maybe this visual will help you

assembly instructions for a craftsman rear tine tiller model 917.297040 transmission - Bing video

At least you have a visual of an assembled transmission. If you CANNOT reassemble your tranny from the pictures, call around and get an idea of the rebuild from a shop (using YOUR parts), and the cost of a tranny replacement.

The hardest part of this job is getting started, so clean everything up and lay your parts out by the picture. Practice fitting them together, a few times, and taking them back apart. You will be surprised at how quickly you learn how things fit, and how easy the picture is to follow.

Hell you already screwed up by dropping it, what more do you have to lose by playing with it some to LEARN? The only thing separating you from the shop guy is experience, so this is where you get yours. Takes time, and failure the first time is no big deal, just start over, OR... make the calls.

Never had one of these as a kid?

Thanks talaniman for response. I have seen those videos over and over but none show clear pic of the gears that I need to see. Have put it together several times and haven't gotten it right yet. I think will take the trans case and gears and all other inside parts to someone that I know and has a shop and has worked on these before. Am hoping he can get it back together. Will post on how this turns out.
