    The civil war
I have to write a mixed summary of both 1861: The Civil War Awakening by Adam Good heart and The Causes of the Civil War by Kenneth M. Stampp. It must have at least 4 direct quotes, 2 from each book and it must be short... I don't exactly know what to write.. Can anyone give me a suggestion or something? Thank you so so much

You could start by reading the books

Yes, this is the kind of question that only someone who has read both books can help you with.
Try a Civil War buff site or two or three.
(Don't bother until you actually have read both books, because everyone will say the same thing.)

Read the books, take notes, and you will find what to write.

Read the books, write a summary of both and write about the questions from the viewpoint of the authors. After that, you will find maybe one sentence from each and properly quote them in your paper.

The limit is half a page. 😂

It's due Monday, and 1861 has 460 pages and The Causes of The Civil War has 244 pages... So I obviously can't read both in time..

Unfortunately, we cannot do your work for you and that includes reading the books. I guess you have a lot of reading to do.

The teacher expects the class to read two books between Thursday and Monday plus write a report on them? Sorry, I don't believe that.

He wants us to write a short mixed summary of both... We type it and skip a line each sentence, so it's like we're writing half a page. I'm used to writing long summaries, so I don't exactly know what to write.

Why does that look like you are attempting to use other readers' reviews as your own?

Have you even skimmed over the books to be able to form your own opinion of what the books are about?

Speaking of skipping, you skipped neatly over the implication that you were assigned the books to read much early than Thursday.
    I don't believe you either.
Plus, you say you 'already explained' why you didn't have time. NO you didn't. It is moot anyway.

Each book is about 400 to 500 pages from what I see. There are 1000's of book reviews on these two books on the internet.

Also I will assume the class is doing a study of the civil war.

Normally you can merely "skim" the book, pick up some of the main points by reading the first few pages of each chapter. (not that I advise it) In this case, you take what you read. Do not use their words, just say it over in your own words. If you use the authors words, it is not the way you talk. For a quote, just pick a line out of each book and use it.

This is really a very simple assignment
