    Owen kennel cough?
Owen has the symptoms of kennel cough again. From what I read online he does not need the vet... I want to be sure that is accurate. He is coughing nothing coming up, still eating still pooping still drinking. Still active. The cough is not constant.

His cough is the same as the last time too.

Vet or not vet. We will have to get a payday loan if he needs to go but will do it. I would rather not if it is not necessary as that payday loan racket costs you a lot over time.

Susan, Kennel cough is a lot like the human cold, or flu. So Owen is sick, but not sick enough to need a vets care. Most cases of kennel cough go away on their own.

Antibiotics would make him healthy faster, but it's really not necessary.

I'd give it a few weeks, to a month. If he's not better by then, or suddenly gets worse, then take him to the vet. But give it at least a month to clear out of his system on it's own. Most dogs with kennel cough don't need a vets help. :)

Feel better Owen. Your mommy doesn't like it when you're sick!

My Cocker is 14 years old and quite frequently starts coughing and then gags one time with nothing coming up. He licks on his paws a lot lately, and it sounds like a hairball. Could that be possible, or should I take him to the vet for this?
