    Poem who wrote it?
"I'll lend for a little while
A child of mine," He Said.
For You love thee while he lives
And mourn for when he's dead.
It may be six or seven years
    Or twenty-two or three,
But will you, till I call him back,
Take good care of him for me?
He'll bring his charms to gladden you,
And should his stay be brief,
    You'll have his lovely memories
    As solace for your grief.
I cannot promise he will stay,
    For all from life returns,
But there are lessons taught down there,
I want this child to learn.
I've looked the wide world over
In my search for teachers true
And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes
    I have selected you.
Now will you give him all your love
    Nor think the labor vain
Nor hate me when I come to call to
    Take him home Again

My wife's mom got this when (my wife's) brother drowned. Her mom (who has passed away) would give this to any family that lost a child. My wife found it and would like to know who wrote it.

AUTHOR OF THIS POEM I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one, I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways. Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry...

Oh how I miss those days, When every pain was full of grace, & every night I slept alone, & & every day I was so weak, With will of steel, & heart of stone, ... & still that Love was what I seek, But the very Love has come & gone..! Oh how I miss when I was home :((( When God's arms where...

"The time I've lost in wooing, In watching and pursuing The light that lies In woman's eyes, Has been my heart's undoing. Tho' Wisdom oft has sought me, I scorn'd the lore she brought me, My only books Were women's looks, And folly's all they taught me.
