    Bad news... I don't think there is one... the finish is damaged. However if someone knows me to be wrong...they wil answer soon enough.

    Lye blackens the wood grain. Other than possibly scraping and refinishing, not much else to do. If you have any pieces, a floor installer should be able to splice in a piece.

    Yes, afraid so. I always take the racks out, spray in the bathtub and put in plastic garbage bags to set. Avoids some of the drip.

    Now I have a completely self cleaning oven! So don't have to go through that mess anymore.

    Why didn't you cover floor around oven with newspaper?
