    Sprocket change over
    Hi,
I have a 40" diam 84 tooth 1 1/2" pitch sprocket being driven by a 17 tooth. I want to change to a # 80 with a 1" pitch. A sprocket builder recommended a 27.66 OD with identical number of teeth on both sprockets and claims it will carry the same load. My gut tells me that I will loose leverage on the load and should stick to the same outside diameters. Am I wrong? Why?
    Many thanks and best regards
    Mike
