    50 hours after tooth extraction
    hi it has been 50 hours after my tooth extraction! and I am not to sure if my clot is still there or not! if its not what should I do I am terrifired of dry socket! and when I rince my mouth with salt water can I swish it like mouth wash?

    Yes~you can gently swish and spit, no need to be vigorous about it. What you want to avoid is suction, like drawing from a straw or smoking a cigarette. No suction and it ought to be fine. Hope you heal quickly. Wish you the best.

    Ty very much! But now I have another question! it is now 72 hours after the extraction! And I free from dry socket or how long do I have to wait? Also what can I eat! Everything I Google in never give me a straight answer and am confused thanks again

    Didn't you get after-care information to bring home? Or why not call the dentist who did the surgery?

    Yes I did but I am a super paronod person who is freaking out hahah and just thought I would try here and see if I could get some decent answers

    The info from the dentist isn't decent? Does it say how long to beware of a dry socket?

    Are you in severe pain?

    If you look into the site where the tooth was pulled, you'll probably see a dry-looking opening. Instead of a dark blood clot, there will just be whitish bone. The pain typically starts about 2 days after the tooth was pulled. Over time it becomes more severe and can radiate to your ear.

    Other symptoms of dry socket include bad breath and an unpleasant smell and taste in your mouth.
