    Rhodiolia
I have a question about Rhodiola. I tried taking it at 240 mg a day, and I started to notice my blood pressure went up some. I stopped taking it, and am scared to try and take it again. Is there a safe amount of mg a day that will not raise my blood pressure. I am a woman age 40 weigh 150 pounds. I really would like to start taking it again but not at the risk of raising my blood pressure. It was helping me with energy so much. I have a 2 and 3 year old, and really need the energy.

The main use of this plant is to treat depression and to increase sexual ability ? Are you suffering from depression or needing to increase sexual function ?

But yes, the main and most dangerous side effect is that it does raise the blood pressure. It also thins the blood, so that is a danger also.

Low dosages taken about 30 min before a meal on empty stomach is best.

Before taking high dosages, you should allow body time to adjust and build up to the dosages.

But yes it will increase your blood pressure some, esp short term.
