Unwanted Underlined Lines On Web Page
I am working w/html on a web page this is giving me trouble. One of my pages has a poem on it w/some additional html (for lack of space) below it. No matter what I do, the lines in the poem keep coming out UNDERLINED, even though they don't appear to be one the "preview" page. I am including the pertinent script below. Can you tell me (specifically) what changes I need to make to get this to come out right?

    HTML Code:
    <span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><font size="4"><font color="#ffcc00">Past The Stars</font><br /><br /><font size="3" color="#ffffff">If not<br />for the stars,<br />we would believe<br />ourselves immortal.<br />They give us balance,<br />And, try as we will,<br />we cannot project<br />feeling upon them...<br />Past the starts<br />of the visible eye<br />are more stars<br />we have conceived in mind.<br />And to these we are closer<br />than to those of the eye,<br />and in this is the essence<br />of the universe.<br /></font></font></span></span></spanspan><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><font size="4"><font size="3" color="#ffffff"><font size="3"><font color="#ffffff"><font size="+0"><span><span><br /><a href="http://www.lulu.com/commerce/index.php?fBuyContent="><img src="http://www.lulu.com/services/buy_now_buttons/images/orange.gif" border="0" alt="Support independent publishing: buy this on Lulu." width="95" height="41" /> </a><br /><br /><span><span><span><span><br />RECOMMEND THIS SITE<br /></span></span></span></span></span></span></font></font></font></font></font></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><font size="4"><font size="3" color="#ffffff"><font size="3"><font color="#ffffff"><font size="+0"><span><span><span><span></span></span></span></span></font></font></font><font size="3"><font color="#ffffff"><font size="+0"><span><span><span><span><span><span><p><form action="http://www.searchbliss.com/refer-it.asp" method="post" name="frmReferral" target="_blank"><table border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="2"><tbody><tr><td align="right"><font face="Arial" size="-1" color="#ffffff"><strong>Your Name:</strong></font></td><td><input name="txtFromName" size="15" style="background-color: #ffffa0" title="Your Google Toolbar can fill this in for you. When I copy your code, there is a space between <span> (9th one). That takes care of the strike through in the text.

Then there is a space between <span> (17th one). Don't know what that one does?

You can check the coding for the URL link - if the link is not terminated correctly with a </a> then the rest of the paragraph, DIV etc. will be underlined.

Try not to e-kill readers of your code by pasting one-liners.
