    name of lumber sizes
    What would a piece of lumber the following sizes normally be referred to in the industry?

    a. 1-1/2" x 3-1/2" x 92.5" fir

    b. 1" x 5-1/2" cedar

    a. Is a 2x4 precut stud.
    This is used in wall construction so when the bottom and double top plate is added it gives a overall wall height of 97". This gives you a "8 foot" wall height.
