    What company held your 401k?

Allen Tank would have had an outside source that held 401k accounts, just like health insurance might have been provided by "Blue Cross Blue Shield" for example. TDAmeritrade, Fidelity, etc. are examples of companies that provide 401k services.

Adding to this - when you worked at the Allen Tank you would ghave received quarterly statements from the 401(k) plan administator (the 3rd-party bank, brokerage house, or insurance company that actually manages the account), and on those statements you should be able to find contact info for the administrator. And even after you left the firm you should have still received statements at least annually, as long as the account was still funded. So check your records and look for these old statements.

If you can't locate old statements I suggest you call Allen Tank and ask someone in the HR department how to get in touch with their 401(k) plan administrator. It seems they are still in busines: see Allen Tank Inc Profile - New Iberia, LA 70562 - Single Location 26822990
