Yes it's home work. My mind is on revision as have exams, you know what school is like they bombard you with too much !
So how do I find out about modern china ?

China with a small c is pottery, usually made of porcelain china.
China with a capital C is the country.
You asked this under History, so I assume you mean the country.
There is a lot of info about modern China on wikipedia if you look at the major cities - Shanghai, Beijing (Peking), and so on.
