First you have to attend court and see what the Judge sentences you to. You may have a fine AND probation imposed.

Agree with Twinkie - and you probably will also have a criminal record, depending on your age and the State/Country.

I wouldn't proceed without an Attorney. I realize it's a small amount to you, but I don't know the Court's feelings on the subject in your area right now.

Well it was a 1/5 so like a 10 bag.. and since she didn't want to claim it we both went to jail. I just thought maybe I could pay off the fine to the court and maybe avoid probabtion.. or would I just have to go to the probation the first day and pay it off?

You'll do whatever the Judge orders - it could be probation and a fine. It could be either one. It could be nothing.

No, you can't do one day of probation, pay a fine and it's over.

This is why you need an Attorney. You don't understand how the system works.

You were arrested because your friend wouldn't admit it was hers? I'd find new friends.

What a shame. Where is this? Ask around for free legal help. Look for marijuana rights groups in your state.
