    YouTube video, honeywell zone valve replacement
    How to replace, clean or free the diaphragm for a Honeywell heating zone valve
    40004850-001. The diaphragm of the zone valve was replaced last Dec. 2011 and is not working again.

    How about a better part number like V8043E or sum such similar number. The number you gave is a SKU which will not work on Honeywell's main site.

    Thank you for your response. I just got home and I will look to find a better part number. The diagrams sent in give me a better idea where to look for the correct number.

    Yes I found it: diagrams at this site showed exactly where to look. I needed a ladder.

    I'm not sure so I'll answer here too. The part number for the Honeywell zone valve diaphragm is V8043E1012. It is a 24V 50,60 Hz W 0.32 amps @ 60 Hz diaphragm or valve.

    Just reviewed the Honeywell link you supplied for the zone valve problem presented. I have a V8043E covered in the supplied link. This will be a big help in trying to loosen the valve. At first I was confused because the number on my valve is slightly different V8043E(1012). Think I got now. Thanks for your help.

What does the "manual" position of the Honeywell 4000 4850 001 zone valve do? Does it by pass the thermostat and not operate the valve so that the valve stays closed all the time?

The valve does not open when I call for heat. The manual lever is stuck in one position and I am unable to move it in any direction. I have an older style valve which I suspect I have to replace. Will the new motorized valve mount to the old body or do I have to replace the body as well?
