Code 19 Error - Keyboard Freeze Problems
I recently removed several unused programs from my computer. Somehow it seems this process corrupted my registry. Touching any key on my keyboard now freezes the mouse pointer. Oddly enough the mouse and computer work fine until I touch a key on the keyboard. Processes already run continue to run, but the mouse is no longer useable once I touch a key on the keyboard. I am using a logitech duo cordless mouse/keyboard. When I try to uninstall and reinstall I continue to have the same error.

In device manager I am told that I have a corrupt registry and am cited 'code 19' I don't have a restore point or saved registry file unfortunately as I have system restor turned off.

I noticed another poster on this forum firxed a similar error that wreaked havoc on a cd/dvd drive. My problem is the keyboard and that fix doesn't help.

Any registry experts out there can offer some help? Thanks in advance.

P.S I have already run many many reg fix programs including tune up utilities regseeker etc...

    Code 19 Error
According to Microsoft, a Code 19 Error,is a sign of a corrupted registry, which you already know. The technical run around goes like this:delete the registry entries for those drives ONLY.Enable at least one COM port in the input/output (BIOS) so that the serial.sys file can load properly.
In device manager,on the VIEW menu, click Display Hidden Devices to see if the serial driver has loaded.
There you have it.Crystal clear!
Please, please, turn on system restore, once you get everything sorted, and make a restore point.Over the years I have also learned some very hard lessons by not doing so.You might save some space on your PC by not having it on,but at times like this, you can see why.
    Best wishes,
    Nez :)
