Her body evidently is not producing enough insulin to stabilize the sugar level in her system. She must be diabetic and needs medical diagnosis to what needs are necessary for her survival. Consult a specialist at least.

Ps. I am in construction and am not a doctor so I may be incorrect. Nm

She must be testing your glucose level to know it is high. I am a diabetic Type 11 so I test every couple of days and my med is metformin. If she is a nurse then she must know more about this then an ordinary person, enough to know she has to go to a doctor; diabetes is a serious illness causing kidney disease. I was told the rule of thumb for testing glucose level, fasting in the morning, 7 before I eat and 8 after, so if she is way higher then that, say l5 or l6 then she must get help. She is right about one thing though, overweight people are prone to diabetes.

It is very imortant that she gets checked by her doctor. It does sound to me that she has diabetes, but that must be confirmed by her physician. Losing weight can help, but it is not a cure.

Please ask her to make an appointment with her doctor as this is a very serious illness if left untreated.
