    Introduction to Fencing
Hi everyone, I am thinking of starting fencing next year but know nothing about it, and have a few questions.
    1. What are the rules? What is the aim of fencing? etc.
    2. Can you get injured? Is it dangerous?
    3. What skills do you need to do fencing?

    Thanks everyone (:

There is all types of fences. You may need equipment. The ground can be hard at times. It can get hot and cold. Rules can vary by area. Tell me what area you will work and I can provide help.

I do martial arts swords, not fencing but in general

The point of it is to score points and win a tournament or match.
There are score points on your body where they may hit you.

Yes you can get hurt, if you are careless or if you don't use the proper protection.

You need good reflexes and a very good teacher

Fencing is kind of hard to get down pat the point of fencing is to score a hit. To fence you really need lightning fast refexes a lot of practice skill and very very very good luck

In fencing luck doesn't come into the picture. It is dexterity, skill and discipline only; and recognizing the same in your opponent to win the match.
