    Masturbation a sin? Please help.
So I have asked god for forgiveness so many times like about 4-6. But now that I think about it I shouldn't have so soon. I am a teenager (not very young but I am a teen) . Anyway I Think masturbation is wonderful and keeps me from having premarital sex. As a teen I am finding that I get these "urges" and no matter what any christian or catholic tells me,I don't think its right for me to ignore the urges. Im only human and I feel that god meant for us to have urges. I have stayed away from pornography, but still want to masterbate. My question is : is it wrong for me to masterbate to "imaginary" people so its not lusting . And will god stop forgiving me if I keep asking him for forgiveness after breaking my promise so manytimes? Please help

Nowhere in the Bible does God forbid masturbation. The only problem would be if you allow it to interfere with your daily routine and social life, and make it the most important thing. God would be very happy if you spelled the word correctly, though.

I can honestly say it doesn't interfear at all. However I am very confused about lust. I know the act of masturbation isn't sin but lust is so if I imagine someone who doesn't even exist is that still sin?

It depends on your religion. Some religions feel that the spilling of the seed is indeed a sin.

God created us with all our emotions including sexual desire. There is nothing wrong with lust as long as you are not hurting someone else with it. You are Christian?

Catholics were the first Christians and formed from the early churches started by the apostles.

So do you attend a church and have a priest who is telling you masturbation is wrong? I don't want to go against what you have in your real life. I'm a Lutheran and preacher's kid and former Lutheran educator (just so you know where I am coming from).

Yes I attend a church with a preist but I don't go often.
But catholics are the same as christians the main thing that they fight about is being saved(christian) and being baptized(catholic) As little as I've gone the preist has never talked about masturbation

Catholics ARE Christians. Why do you think they fight about salvation (both believe in Jesus) and being baptized (both baptize babies and others with water)? There's no difference or fight.

I guess christians and catholics are telling me wrong . So would it be OK if I did? I think my mistake with my promise is that I expected to stop right away instead of gradually working away from it and I am finding myself in way over my head . Am I wrong if I do?

The God I worship does not say it is a sin. In fact, the better you know how your body works, the happier and more satisfied you will be in your marriage. Priests and ministers don't talk much about sex and masturbation because it is a subject unfortunately wrapped up in guilt and misunderstandings.

I don't think there should be guilt at all. Sex is beautiful. And is natural now I can see sin in pornography and lust with another partner but not if maybe you just want to be alone for a change and by masterbating it honestly helps me and keeps me from "wanting more" with real people and end up having sex before marrige. I don't want to change my religion because I am scared of making the wrong decision and going to hell no matter if I agree with my religion or not):

And remember that sex = baby. You don't want to take the risk of becoming a mother until your education is complete and after you are married and have money in savings and a good sense of who you are and that you are mature enough to be responsible for a little baby.

First, be it Catholic or other Christian denominations, they teach we are all sinners, every person sins every day, Paul in the bible tells us, we are all sinners and have no good in us.

Most Christian churches teach us that it is because we have a sin nature in us, because of the sin and fall of Adam, so every person born of man will have that Nature in them. That nature is what is covered at baptism or conversion or repentance ( depends on denomination as to when you are "saved"

Being saved does not mean we will not sin any more, I may have had lust a couple times today along with anger, and over eating, and speeding. And it is not even 9 am yet.

we all sin, we all will continue to sin till the day we die. Being a Christian does not mean we don't sin, it only means we reconise we are sinners who can not save theirself.
