    American indian hallmarks
    I have a wonderful contemporary Native American necklace. It has large cutout coyote and is heavily beaded. The hall mark is R* (a R with a star next to it.) Any ideas who the artist is? Thank you, Dana

    I had a frirnd named Rhett Lewis who learned to make Native American Jewerly from his father an the shop they owned was in Holbrook, AZ an was called Lewis Traders. He used a R for awhile then when on to other symbols later. I have a lot of his jewerly because he let me pick my own stones an would custom design around them for me. Sorry to say that Rhett has not been making anything since they robbed his shop. He got completely out of the business. It is still possible that there is a few designers using that symbol, letter though. Good Luck

    Fascinating - but the question was R* - did your friend's father use that specific mark when he made "jewerly"?
