I am having difficulty in connecting my dvd player to direct TV and getting it to work. I've read on here how to do it, and tried everything I know how to, but still no luck! I have Direct TV and a Panasonic DVD S-25 player. Can someone help??

I would hook the DVD Player directly to TV on the best Quality you can, starting with HDMI, then Component(Red,Blue,Green,Red and White), S-Video, or Composite(Red, white, and yellow).
Select same input on TV(HDMI 1) etc.

If your TV only has a Cable fitting, and DVD does not, you can use a $5 Modulator.

What cables and connections are you using out of DVD?
What Input are you connecting to on the TV?
Can you select source(HDMI,Composite 1, composite 2 etc)?

On dvd: white to audio out (L), red to audio out (r), yellow to video output. On TV: red to R, white to L, yellow AV2... all color coded.

I can select composite on the TV, is that what you mean?

Yeah, you got it, you just have to go to the TV and Select AV 2 with your Input or Source Button.
Some TVs can get the AV 1, AV2 etc by going below channel 2.
