Concerns over my Grandson
Need advice from someone who has gone through this. My Daughter has raised her 6 year old son on her own since he was born. With the help from us. He has been staying with me on the weekends. His Father has never seen him and never paid child support. And has been in and out of jail. Now after all this time he wants to see him. My Daughter never filed for full custody. She thought that she didn't have to, since he has 4 other kids he doesn't support. Can he just come and take him at anytime? My Grandson doesn't even know his Father. He has never met him. We are worried about this! What are my Daughter's rights? We live in PA.

No, he can't just come and take him. She can refuse to let him. However, if he goes to court and asserts his rights, he may be able to get visitation. Probably supervised at first.
But unless he can be proven to be a danger to the child, he can get a court to order visitation. |
