    Hurricane Ties
Look at the rafters in the Florida Room. If I installed the ties. One end would go on the rafter and the other connects to the wall. I know they have a left side and right side tie. I have 13 rafters altogether. I cannot use nails. It is solid cement. Is that the way you do it?

You can nail and/or screw with concrete but you must drill a pilot hole. However, we don't know where you are, what is your exact location? I think this would suit you better. H/TSP Seismic and Hurricane Ties

Ok you do need something. California has very strict building codes and I would guess Florida does too. Call your local building inpector and ask what he would accept if this were new construction.
