    Question about my tax status
    I am curious if I qualify as a resident alien for tax purpose in this case:
    My previous and current visa status and the length of stay are as follows:

    F2 in 1985 : 365 days
    F2 in 1986: about 185 days
    H4 in 1986: about 180 days
    H4 in 1987: 365 days
    H4 in 1988: 240 days
    F2 in 2009: 300 days
    F2 in 2010: 297 days
    F1 in 2011: about 300 days
    F1 in 2012: about 60 days

    If you stay in the U.S. for all of 2012, you will be considered a resident alien for tax purposes for 2012.
