No 1099 is needed for rent.
But what does your title 'Employee with w2 and 1099?' mean?

I am assuming the owner of the Company also receives a W-2 from the Company for work performed. In addition he/she also owns the Company's building and receives rents. I hate to disagree but I think the rent payments do go on a 1099-Misc (Box 1).

Depnds on the TYPE of business. If the business is a corporation, NO Form 1099-MISC is required.

If the business is a partnership, then the Form 1099-MISC is required.
