    Water Softener, not working.
I am looking to find out if anyone has experience with water softeners, Namely the Culligan Mark 49. It has a full salt "tank" and seems to cycle when ran manually. The problem is the water remains hard. I suspect that it does not draw from the brine tank as it should. I just wonder what the usual culprits are in this instance? I haven't had time to tear it apart as of yet and want to know what I should be looking for .
    Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

Dirty Water Softener [ 2 Answers ]

Whoever installed the water softener in my house (done with the previous owner) obviously wasn't the sharpest knife in the kitchen because they installed the sediment filter AFTER the water softener (I'm on a dug well with quite a bit of sediment coming through the pipes). Needless to say my water...
