How should I file my Taxes if I worked in 2 States
    Hello,
How should I file my taxes, and what forms should I use?
Last year while I was finishing my graduate degree in Utah, and I was also working at the university. By the way, I was an international student.
Now I am working in Massachusetts, on my work permit visa (optional practical training - OPT).
And since I was a full time student from Brazil, I know that most of the taxes I paid I will get back (at least that is how it worked for the past 3 years).
Is there anything I should know about being a student for half a year and then not being one for the other half?
    Please let me know.

While on OPT, you are STILL considered to be a student.

    File Form 1040Nr or 1040NR-EZ.

BTW, how did you file in the past three years? By mail or on-line?

    Yes I have.
I have been in the US since 2002 - July, and I have been filling since then.

First year by mail, and the following 2 years by e-file.
What is the difference by the way? Why is this information necessary (just curious).

Because if your efiled the past two years, then you probably filed incorrectly.

Forms 1040NR and 1040NR-EZ cannot be efiled; they must be mailed.

You MAY want to fix that!

    Mail in 2003 an e-file in 04&05.

Okay, then for sure you filed incorrectly in 2004 and 2005.
